BABA-W (09988.HK), MEITUAN-W (03690.HK) and JD-SW (09618.HK) are wrestling to acquire front-warehouse fresh e-commerce platform Pupu Supermarket, according to hearsay. BABA-W reportedly dispatched an audit team to Pupu Supermarket. Xu Xin of Capital Today is said to be participating in talks with Pupu Supermarket on behalf of JD-SW, while MEITUAN-W is aggressively raising its bid, sources divulged. Pupu Supermarket is valued at between USD2 billion and USD5 billion. However, Sina Tech cited JD-SW as saying that it has no such plan and has not been in contact with the company.
