Regional mediators including Qatar and Pakistan drafted a revised letter of intent aimed at bridging differences between the US and Iran, according to Axios, citing people with the knowledge of the matter. However, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed strong skepticism about the negotiations and hopes to resume the war to further weaken Iran's military capabilities and undermine the Iranian regime by destroying its critical infrastructure. US President Donald Trump held a phone call with Netanyahu on Tuesday (19th), sources divulged. Trump told Netanyahu that mediating countries are working to formulate a letter of intent, which both the US and Iran would sign to formally end the war and initiate a 30-day negotiation period to discuss issues including Iran's nuclear program and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. After the call, Netanyahu purportedly appeared extremely anxious owing to differences between the two leaders over the future direction of developments. AASTOCKS Financial News |
