S Korea President Urges Limits on Samsung Union Strike; XL2CSOPSMSN (07747.HK) Reverts Up

Amid mediation by the South Korea government, negotiations between Samsung Electronics and its union have again broken down. President Lee Jae Myung called at a cabinet meeting for appropriate limits to be imposed on union strike actions.

Lee said that while it is understandable for unions to safeguard their interests through legitimate rights, there must also be appropriate limits.

Samsung shares in South Korea closed up 0.2% today (20th), after once diving 4.4% intraday. In Hong Kong, XL2CSOPSMSN (07747.HK) once slid 10% before rebounding late in the session and last edged up 0.22% at HKD138.65. XL2CSOPHYNIX (07709.HK) last quoted at HKD81.16, up 0.02%.
