Just after US President Donald Trump concluded his state visit to China and departed Beijing in the afternoon, Russian President Vladimir Putin is said to visit Beijing next Wednesday (20th) for a one-day trip, the South China Morning Post reported.

The visit is regarded as a routine engagement in China-Russia relations, and China is unlikely to hold a grand ceremony such as a military parade.

This visit to China will mark Putin's first overseas trip this year, highlighting the close ties between China and Russia.

Earlier this month, Putin said the two countries had in principle reached a high level of consensus on cooperation in the natural gas and oil sectors, and he hopes to discuss nuclear energy issues with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
