HKT-SS (06823.HK) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute (ASTRI) to set up a joint research and development (R&D) laboratory at Hong Kong-Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park (HSITP) in the Lok Ma Chau Loop. Leveraging its strengths in fiber-optic and mobile networks as well as its system integration experience, HKT will combine with ASTRI's expertise in research, development and innovation to jointly develop new products and solutions covering AI, 5G/6G mobile communication technologies, low-Earth orbit satellite technologies, low-altitude economy solutions, cybersecurity and the Internet of Things (IoT).
