Ba Shusong, former managing director and chief China economist at HKEX (00388.HK), is suspected of involvement in an illegal fundraising case, and was taken away by the investigating authorities around 12 March, according to Chinese media. Ba's involvement in the case may be related to an illegal fundraising case led by his student, the report added. Ba has been restricted from leaving China for at least six months.
