After the US allowed the sale of some Iranian crude oil loaded onto tankers, some Chinese state-owned refineries have started considering purchasing Iranian crude oil, Bloomberg reported, citing people familiar with the matter.

Representatives of the National Iranian Oil Company, along with traders acting as intermediaries, have been reaching out to Chinese refiners and other Asian refiners to identify potential buyers, sources divulged.

However, in light of prevailing sanctions on Iran, there is a need to carefully scrutinize the specific operational processes for purchasing Iranian oil. Moreover, it is necessary to find ships that comply with regulations and are capable and willing to transport Iranian crude oil.
