Several international banks, including HSBC HOLDINGS (00005.HK) and STANCHART (02888.HK), have informed some Middle Eastern clients that certain transactions involving Asian assets need to be put on hold, Bloomberg reported, citing sources.

Banks from Japan, Greater China, and Singapore are also reviewing their existing projects and risk exposures, while considering shifting their focus to South Korea, Australia, and other more stable markets for the time being.
