Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury, Christopher Hui, said during a radio program that the Hong Kong Precious Metals Central Clearing Company Limited was established, and signed a cooperation agreement with Shanghai. Up to now, more than 10 local and domestic and international banks joined the Board.

After establishing the system, the Hong Kong Precious Metals Central Clearing Company would require banks to serve as clearing members, he noted. Therefore, it must consult the market and participants regarding the clearing rules to ensure they understand the system's operations.
