Surveyed economists raised the median forecast for Hong Kong's economic growth this year from 2.5% to 2.9%, reflecting improved financial activities and the support of expansionary measures in the fiscal budget, as revealed by a Bloomberg survey.

Economists also revised up the YoY growth forecasts for each quarter, with all predictions reaching or exceeding 2.5%. The median growth forecast for next year remained unchanged at 2.5%.

Cindy Keung, an economist at OCBC Bank Hong Kong, noted that further declines in interest rates, a weaker HKD, and a favorable policy environment should bolster economic growth next year. Meanwhile, resilient external demand and continuously improving domestic demand, paired with a positive wealth effect, are expected to galvanize economic activities.
