<Asia>S Korea KOSPI Once Plummets 6%, Down 10%+ from Feb's Historical Peak

Amid the risk-off sentiment triggered by the Middle East conflict, the South Korea KOSPI once plummeted 6.1%, with a total decline of over 10% from the historical peak set on February 26. It last slid 4.85% at 5,510.87. Chip giants Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix both saw their stock prices dive more than 6%.

Overnight (3rd), the Korean won busted below the 1,500-mark against the US dollar, marking the first time since the global financial crisis in March 2009. This morning (4th), the Korean won ticked up, last adding by 0.6% to 1,476.33 per US dollar.
