GAC GROUP Feng Xingya: Expanding into Rural Mkts Key to Developing NEVs

Feng Xingya, a delegate of the National People's Congress and Chairman of GAC GROUP (02238.HK), said before the Two Sessions that, during the '15th Five-Year Plan' period, GAC GROUP will focus on the development of the auto industry, its industrial chain and others, including laying out plans for technological breakthroughs such as further enhancing R&D in solid-state batteries (SSBs), advancing intelligent connected systems, and expanding into international markets, according to the Shanghai Securities News. The development of NEVs should further expand into rural markets, Feng added. The current rural market has enormous potential, and further exploration is needed on how to effectively boost NEV consumption in these areas. As the NEV industry grows in mainland China, globalization issues involve how to achieve 'standard globalization' concerning product, technical and other standards.
