Wang Yi Says Military Force Cannot Truly Solve Problems, Urges Immediate Halt of Military Actions During Call with Israeli Foreign Minister

Wang Yi, a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Party and the foreign minister, accepted a phone call with Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar yesterday (3rd), according to CCTV. Wang said during the call that China has consistently advocated resolving international and regional hot issues through dialogue and consultation. All parties should abide by the purposes and principles of the United Nations Charter and refrain from the use or threat of force in international relations. This also aligns with the fundamental interests of all parties, including Israel. Wang emphasized that China calls for an immediate cessation of military actions to prevent the conflict from further escalating and spiraling out of control. China will continue to play a constructive role in promoting de-escalation. China opposes military strikes by Israel and the US against Iran, Wang added.
