PBOC: Jan's Govt Bond Net Financing Hikes to RMB976.39B; Shanghai Gold Exchange's Trading Vol. Adds 18.6% YoY

The People's Bank of China (PBOC) released the financial market operations for January 2026. The government bond net financing reached RMB976.39 billion, up RMB283.13 billion YoY. Corporate bond net financing was RMB503.26 billion, up by RMB57.9 billion YoY. As of the end of January 2026, the bond market custody balance was RMB197.7 trillion. As of the end of January 2026, the Shanghai Gold Exchange's Au (T+D) contract closed at RMB1,164 per gram, up by 19.5% MoM. In January 2026, the Shanghai Gold Exchange traded 5,970.2 tons of gold, up 18.6% YoY; the Shanghai Futures Exchange traded 18,000 tons of gold, up 52.2% YoY.
