PCCW: Yellow Viu Subscription Revenue Up 13% YoY; High-Growth Markets Prioritized

The number of paid users for its OTT platform Viu (Yellow Viu) increased by 1.3 million YoY to 16.8 million, PCCW (00008.HK)'s Acting Group Managing Director and Group Chief Financial Officer, Susanna Hui, said. Subscription revenue grew by 13% YoY given the group's strategy of optimizing premium package pricing to enhance monetization capabilities. The group will continue to prioritize resource allocation to high-growth markets to leverage economies of scale. Looking ahead to this year, the group plans to launch several new initiatives, including a collaboration with HBO Max and a streaming bundle combining Asian and Hollywood content, which has already been launched in five Southeast Asian markets to further enhance market penetration.
