As of the end of January 2026, the foreign exchange reserves of China amounted to nearly USD3.4 trillion, an increment of USD41.2 billion from the end of December 2025, representing a rise of 1.23%, the State Administration of Foreign Exchange (SAFE)'s statistical data showed.

As of the end of January 2026, gold reserves of China were reported at 74.19 million ounces, up 40,000 ounces MoM, marking the 15th consecutive month of gold accumulation, data from the People's Bank of China (PBOC) showed.
