China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) organized the formulation of the mandatory national standard, Safety Technical Requirements for Car Door Handles, which was recently approved and released by the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) and the Standardization Administration of China (SAC). It will be implemented starting next year. This standard clearly specifies the mechanical release configuration requirements for car door handles, the requirements for opening doors, layout areas and operating spaces, as well as the requirements for inner door handle markings and operating instructions, etc.. It aims to address key issues such as the inconvenience of using outer door handles, the inability to open doors after accidents, poor convenience of inner door handle operations, loss of function in certain scenarios, and poor identifiability of inner door handles, etc..
