Citi said in its report that a proprietary table survey conducted in January this year once again yielded surprising Premium Mass data. The average bet per gambler was HKD28,424, comparable to the Golden Week level in 2025. The 28 whales Citi saw wagered a total of HKD8.1 million, implying an average bet of HKD290,000 per whale, marking a YoY increase of 49%. Citi also came across six whales with bets of HKD500,000 or more, compared to only two in January last year. In Citi's estimate, this might be related to promotional activities such as giving away tickets to Blackpink's concert in Hong Kong, the concerts by Raymond Lam at Venetian Arena and Dylan Wang at Galaxy Arena over the weekend, or the collaboration with the popular trendy IP "Twinkle Twinkle".
