China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) and three other departments jointly issued the “Implementation Plan for Digital Transformation of the Automotive Industry”, which stated that the intelligent manufacturing capability maturity level of benchmark vehicle manufacturers will be upgraded by one notch by 2027. The plan mentioned that the digitalization level of auto parts companies will be remarkably improved by 2027, with the adoption rate of R&D design tools exceeding 95% and the CNC rate of key processes surpassing 70%. The overall labor productivity of the industry will hike by 10% compared to 2025, and the product R&D cycle and delivery cycle will be shortened by 20%; replicable and scalable smart factory models will be created, and more than 20 industry-leading intelligent manufacturing system solution providers will be cultivated; a digital transformation and intelligent manufacturing standard system, technology supply system, and talent training system suitable for the industry characteristics and internationally advanced will be formed. By 2030, the overall digitalization development of the industry will reach a high level, with deep integration of digitalization and business; the digitalization of enterprises of all sizes will develop in a coordinated manner, and the supplier system will be continuously refined; a digital public service system matching the industry's development level will be basically established, and the support and guarantee level will be considerably improved.
