China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) announced a public consultation on seven mandatory national standards, including the "Safety Technical Requirements for Automobile Door Handles" (draft for approval) and the foreign language version of the "Safety Requirements for Electric Vehicles (EVs)" mandatory national standard (draft for approval). It is understood that the drafts for approval were issued by the Standardization Administration of China and organized by the MIIT. They cover key indicators such as mechanical strength of door handles, emergency opening, anti-pinch protection, electrical safety of EVs, and power cut-off after collision, aiming to address the shortcomings in passive and active safety of automobiles in China and provide technical basis for subsequent industry access and recall supervision.
