DeepSeek is adopting Nvidia (NVDA.US) chips, which are banned from export to China by the US, to develop next-generation AI models, according to a report by The Information. First, DeepSeek contacts data center companies outside China through chip distributors to procure Nvidia chips, and then, the distributors disassemble the chips from the servers and transport them to China, sources divulged. Nvidia issued a statement saying it has not received any substantial evidence or reports regarding this practice.
