Bank of America, ICBC Face Higher Additional Capital Requirements

The Financial Stability Board (FSB) raised the systemic importance of Bank of America (BAC.US) and ICBC (01398.HK) to the third tier, meaning that the additional capital buffer requirement for both banks will increase from 1.5% to 2%. Besides, Deutsche Bank was downgraded to the first tier, with the additional capital requirement reduced to 1%.

JPMorgan (JPM.US) remained the only bank in the fourth tier, with an additional capital requirement of 2.5%, while HSBC HOLDINGS (00005.HK) had an additional capital requirement of 2%.
