Wang Wentao, Chinese Minister of Commerce, held a conference call yesterday (26th) with Maros Sefcovic, European Commissioner for Trade and Economic Security, to conduct in-depth discussion on economic and trade issues like Nexperia.

Both parties agreed that companies are the main subjects to resolve the Nexperia issue, and will jointly urge Nexperia Netherlands and Nexperia China to engage in constructive communication to find a long-term solution and restore the smooth and stable operation of the global semiconductor supply chain as soon as possible.

The Netherlands recently announced a suspension of administrative orders, taking a small step towards resolving the issue, Wang added. However, the inappropriate administrative and judicial interventions by the Dutch authorities have not yet been lifted, and the global semiconductor production and supply chain have not returned to normal, still facing significant uncertainties.

He hoped that the EU will play an active role in urging the Dutch government to propose constructive solutions as quickly as possible, creating favorable conditions for companies to conduct internal negotiation.
