The HSI closed the day down 188 points or 0.7% at 26,384. The HSCEI fell 69 points or 0.74% to close at 9,328. The HSTECH dropped 55 points or 1%, closing at 5,756. The total market turnover for the day amounted to HKD217.613 billion. Among tech stocks, BABA-W (09988.HK) closed flat at HKD154.9. TENCENT (00700.HK) edged 0.7% lower. MEITUAN-W (03690.HK) inched up 0.3%. XIAOMI-W (01810.HK) and KUAISHOU-W (01024.HK), set to announce their results this week, dipped 0.9% and 0.4%. BIDU-SW (09888.HK) slipped 3%. In addition, JD-SW (09618.HK) and NTES-S (09999.HK) slid 1.3% and 0.5%. BILIBILI-W (09626.HK) eroded 1.9%. EAST BUY (01797.HK) plunged 4.2%. CHINASOFT INT'L (00354.HK) rallied 4.4%. Chip stock SMIC (00981.HK) shed 0.7%, while its peer HUA HONG SEMI (01347.HK) gained 0.4%. Car makers LI AUTO-W (02015.HK) and XPENG-W (09868.HK) waned 2.5% and 2.7%. In contrast, BYD COMPANY (01211.HK) inclined 0.1%. Commodity stocks pulled back, with gold miners ZIJIN MINING (02899.HK), SD GOLD (01787.HK), CHINAGOLDINTL (02099.HK), and ZHAOJIN MINING (01818.HK) sinking 2.7-3.3%.
