At midday, the HSI settled down 213 points, or 0.8%, at 26,359; the HSCEI dropped 74 points, or 0.8%, to 9,323; and the HSTECH declined 69 points, or 1.2%, to 5,743. In the auto sector, SERES (09927.HK) and XPENG-W (09868.HK) tumbled 2.9% and 3%, respectively, while BYD COMPANY (01211.HK) faded 0.3%. China’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism issued a travel advisory urging Chinese tourists to avoid Japan in the near term, hitting tourism platforms. TONGCHENGTRAVEL (00780.HK) and TRIP.COM-S (09961.HK) plummeted 2.2% and 4.9%, respectively, while AIR CHINA (00753.HK) slipped 2%. Film stocks also weakened, with DAMAI ENT (01060.HK) and MAOYAN ENT (01896.HK) both down over 4%. The pharmaceutical sector remained soft, with PHARMARON (03759.HK) and CANSINOBIO (06185.HK) slumping 5.3% and 3.9%, respectively.
