BIDU-SW (09888.HK)(BIDU.US) officially presented the "Baidu Orion" AI engine, marking the group's first comprehensive external opening of its accumulated search technology and cutting-edge AI capabilities over the past 25 years. Starting today, it is available for enterprises and developers. Shi Daiting, head of Baidu Search's Strategy Department, stated that this AI engine is a combination of a foundational model, search AI API, Model Context Protocol (MCP), and vertical advantage capabilities. Based on a multi-agent collaboration architecture, it unifies information, tools, services, models, and interfaces, and is expected to become the "new super brain" of the AI era. Zhao Shiqi, Vice President of the group and General Manager of Baidu Search, noted that there may be concerns about AI replacing search while AI technology is expeditiously advancing. However, he believed AI is reshaping search, making products and services more comprehensible to human language and providing users with proactive planning functions, transforming from a tool to an all-encompassing AI assistant.
