Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes, Director of the Macau Government Tourism Office, expects the Grand Prix to bring a total of 500,000 visitors into Macau over four days, according to Macao Daily News. Fernandes also estimates an average of 90,000-100,000 visitors per day during the National Games period, basically meeting earlier estimates, with the weekend likely to see even higher numbers. As major events can boost hotel occupancy in Macau, Fernandes said the city's average hotel occupancy rate could hit 89% this year. She believes these events will not only benefit Macau but also have a positive impact on surrounding areas, supporting the overall tourism development of the Greater Bay Area.
