<H Shrs>HSI Closes Up 47 Pts as XPENG-W Soars ~18%; Chip Stocks Weaken

Following a gain of over 400 points yesterday (10th), Hong Kong stocks prospered repeatedly today (11th). The HSI ticked up 47 points or 0.18% to close at 26,696. The HSCEI gained 18 points or 0.2% to finish at 9,461. The HSTECH lifted 8 points or 0.15% to settle at 5,924. Total market turnover for the day amounted to $210.231 billion.

Chip stocks SMIC (00981.HK) and HUA HONG SEMI (01347.HK) sagged 2.7% and 3.6%. Handset parts stock SUNNY OPTICAL (02382.HK)'s October handset lens sets shipments rose 5.7% YoY, but its share price slid 0.1%. Q TECH (01478.HK) leaped 4.3%, while FIT HON TENG (06088.HK) eroded 5.6%.

The China Passenger Car Association (CPCA) said that mainland China's new energy passenger vehicle retail sales declined by 1.3% MoM in October. Automaker BYD COMPANY (01211.HK) dropped 0.5%, while SERES (09927.HK) shrank 4.8%.

XPENG-W (09868.HK) soared 17.9% after Jefferies said XPENG-W has planned for Robotaxi operational deployment, targeting mass production and commercialization in 2H26. The broker also quoted XPENG-W as saying that robots and EVs share basic hardware (such as chips) alongside common models and datasets, enabling in-depth cross-domain integration and scalability.

Autonomous driving system providers PONY-W (02026.HK) and WERIDE-W (00800.HK) jumped up over 2%, while auto radar manufacturer HESAI-W (02525.HK) swelled 7.1%. Lithium stock TIANQI LITHIUM (09696.HK) descended 4.4%.
