MoFA: CN Urges EU to Provide Fair, Transparent, Non-discriminatory Biz Environment for CN Firms

Regarding reports that the European Commission is considering forcing EU member states to gradually remove Huawei and ZTE (00763.HK) equipment from their telecom networks, Lin Jian, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PRC (MoFA), responded that Chinese enterprises have long operated in Europe in compliance with laws and regulations, providing quality products and services to the European public, and contributing positively to local economic & social development and employment. Without legal basis and factual evidence, the use of administrative measures to forcibly restrict or even prohibit enterprises from participating in the market constitutes a serious violation of market principles and fair competition rules. China urges the EU to provide a fair, transparent and non-discriminatory business environment for Chinese enterprises to avoid damaging the confidence of companies investing in Europe.
