The HSI opened 99 points or 0.4% higher at 26,748. The HSCEI climbed 41 points or 0.4% to 9,484. The HSTECH rose 46 points or 0.8% to 5,962. SUNNY OPTICAL (02382.HK) opened up 1.9%. Its mobile lens shipments swelled 5.7% YoY last month. Among other tech stocks, TENCENT (00700.HK) advanced 1.9% to HKD662. It is set to release its results this Thursday. BIDU-SW (09888.HK) ballooned 3.7%. The market is eyeing its management's update on autonomous taxis and chips in the results. XIAOMI-W (01810.HK) and KUAISHOU-W (01024.HK) edged 0.7% higher. NTES-S (09999.HK) and BILIBILI-W (09626.HK) inched down 0.2%. Chip stocks SMIC (00981.HK) and HUA HONG SEMI (01347.HK) added 1% and 1.4%. The China Passenger Car Association reported that retail sales in China's new energy passenger car market fell 1.3% MoM last month. Carmakers delivered varying performance. GEELY AUTO (00175.HK) and BYD COMPANY (01211.HK) hiked 0.6% and 1.1% at open, while LI AUTO-W (02015.HK) and NIO-SW (09866.HK) slipped 0.3% and 2%. XPENG-W (09868.HK) opened rallying 9.6% at HKD100.8. Jefferies said it had recently joined XPENG-W's AI workshop and found that the company had already begun planning the deployment of Robotaxi operations, including city selection, site layout, and license applications.
