China's State Administration for Market Regulation has issued a compliance reminder regarding the Double 11 online centralized promotion. The reminder requires major e-commerce platforms to regulate promotional business activities, maintain order in online transactions during the Double 11 period, and protect consumers' legal rights. One of the six aspects detailed in the reminder is that e-commerce platforms have to eliminate illegal practices such as "choose one of two" and "big data swindling", and the promotional rules must be clear and transparent on discounts, coupons, pre-sales, and price guarantees, along with clearly defined usage conditions, return and modification processes, and validity periods.
