Regarding the shutdown of "Mi Call", Wang Hua, general manager of XIAOMI-W (01810.HK)'s public relations department, said that a calling function was embedded in "Mi Call" when it was launched on December 10, 2010. With the widespread adoption and development of mobile internet, XIAOMI-W's business focus has become increasingly concentrated, and so "Mi Call" bid farewell to users on February 19, 2021. Since many users still relied on the "Mi Call" feature, however, it was retained as a standalone app to continue serving those who needed it, Wang added.
