France is probing into online shopping platforms such as Shein, Temu under PDD (PDD.US), AliExpress under BABA-W (09988.HK), and Wish, for allegedly violating regulations prohibiting children from accessing pornographic content through trading platforms, Reuters reported.

Among them, Shein opened its first permanent store today (5th) in BHV department store in central Paris. French Finance Minister Roland Lescure threatened to ban the sale of the brand because consumer regulatory agencies found its online platform selling sex dolls resembling children.

A Shein spokesperson stated that the company will fully cooperate with the investigation, including sharing information about the buyers and sellers of the toys, which are banned.

Alibaba's AliExpress stated that similar products are removed from the site and sellers violating the platform's policies will be penalized.

Temu claimed that the accusations involve some products accessible to children on its platform.
