TENCENT (00700.HK) launched its Weixin palm scan payment service in 2023, which now boasts over 20 million users. Choi noted that palm scan offers greater security and efficiency compared to traditional card tapping, fingerprint or face recognition methods.

Besides payment scenarios, the technology can be applied across various areas including access control, identity verification and membership system. He announced plans to unveil a partnership with a Hong Kong healthcare company in the coming months, involving identity verification and registration features.

Moreover, discussions are underway with several newly constructed buildings regarding potential collaborations.
