Simon Leung, Alternative Chief Executive (ACE) of AlipayHK, revealed in an interview with Hong Kong media that the number of ride-hailing platform drivers increased, coupled with enhanced promotional efforts by the company. As of the end of June 2025, the overall number of ride-hailing users grew by 145% YoY, with average daily northbound/ local ride-hailing orders rallying by 300%/ 400% YoY respectively. AlipayHK has integrated with DiDi, Amap Taxi and Uber, and recently planned to expand the electronic payment function for ride-hailing services from Mainland China and Hong Kong to Macau, Leung noted. It is expected that, within the year, a collaboration with a Southeast Asian ride-hailing platform will be established to further extend services to the Southeast Asia region, providing a more convenient service experience for users traveling abroad.
