TENCENT (00700.HK) and VR Capital Group led an around USD70 million equity financing round for Uzum, an Uzbek fintech and e-commerce company valued at around USD1.5 billion. According to Uzum, over 40% of Uzbek adults are unable to access formal financial services, and it aims to provide services ranging from digital banking to food delivery for them.
