Canalys: India Overtakes CN to Become Country Shipping Most Smartphones to US for 1st Time

India became the largest source of smartphones shipped to the US for the first time in 2Q25, accounting for 44% of the market, according to Canalys' data. Vietnam ranked second, while China's share fell from over 60% a year ago to just 25%, as Apple (AAPL.US) shifted more iPhone assembly to India. With Apple increasing its output in India and smartphone manufacturers stockpiling equipment in advance, the number of mobile phones produced in India for 2Q25 surged by more than 2x YoY, Canalys added.
