According to data from the International Air Transport Association, air freight demand from Asia to North America fell by 10.7% YoY in May, Reuters reported. Analysts attributed this to the impact of the US canceling the tariff exemption policy for low-value parcels from China.

The report also cited air freight consultant Aevean estimating that low-value e-commerce shipments from China to the US sank by 43% MoM in May, while shipments to other major export markets in Europe and Southeast Asia increased.
