Chinese President Xi Jinping presided over the sixth meeting of the Central Financial and Economic Affairs Commission yesterday morning (1st), discussing issues such as advancing the construction of a unified large national market and high-quality development of the marine economy, according to Xinhua News Agency. In his keynote speech at the meeting, Xi accentuated that building a unified large national market is essential for constructing a new development pattern and promoting high-quality development. The meeting pointed out that advancing the construction of a unified large national market requires “five unifications and one openness”, which includes unifying market basic systems, unifying market infrastructure, unifying government behavior standards, unifying market supervision and enforcement, and unifying factor resource markets, while continuously expanding domestic and international openness. The meeting stressed that promoting the construction of a unified large national market should focus on key and difficult points, regulate low-price disorderly competition among enterprises according to laws and regulations, and guide enterprises to improve product quality.
