Data Says US-CN Container Transport Orders Surge by 2.77x

Vizion, a container-tracking software provider, said that US orders for container transport from China to the US surged following the temporary suspension of the US-China trade war, according to Reuters.

As of Wednesday (14th), the 7-day average bookings were 21,530 20-foot equivalent units (TEUs), which is 2.77 times the average of 5,709 TEUs for the week ended last Tuesday (5th), Ben Tracy, Vice President of Strategic Business Development at Vizion, noted.

Moreover, German shipping company Hapag-Lloyd said that bookings for shipments between the US and China in the first few days of this week increased by 50% WoW. CEO Rolf Habben Jansen expressed expectations for an increase in shipping bookings between the US and China.

Earlier, the US and China agreed to mutually cut tariffs, with US tariffs on Chinese goods slashed from 145% to 30%, and Chinese tariffs on US goods axed from 125% to 10%.
