The second meeting of the China-EU Working Group on Financial Cooperation was held in Brussels, Belgium.

The meeting was co-chaired by Xuan Changneng, Deputy Governor of the People's Bank of China (PBOC), and John Berrigan, Director-General for Financial Stability, Financial Services and Capital Markets Union at the European Commission.

The meeting involved in-depth exchanges on issues such as global economic uncertainty, the macroeconomic and financial stability situations of China and the EU, regulation on the banking and insurance industries and the development of pension funds and leasing companies, etc..

Constructive discussions were also held on cooperation in emerging areas such as sustainable finance, cross-border data flow and the construction of cross-border payment systems.

Both parties highly appreciated the positive outcomes achieved since the establishment of the China-EU Working Group on Financial Cooperation, and will continue to deepen cooperation in key areas to advance more substantive results.
