The interdepartmental task force on festive arrangements, led by Chief Secretary for Administration Chan Kwok-ki, reported that Hong Kong recorded approximately 1.1 million visitor arrivals during the 2025 May Day Golden Week, reflecting a 22% YoY upswing. Of these, about 920,000 were mainland Chinese visitors, up 20% YoY, and 180,000 were non-mainland visitors, up 31% YoY.

Visitors were distributed across various attractions in Hong Kong during the Labor Day holiday period. Hotel occupancy rates generally hit 90%. Major attractions saw robust foot traffic with good order maintained.

Over 900 mainland tour groups, totaling nearly 33,000 visitors, arrived, with about 70% opting for overnight itineraries. The number of tour groups hugely surpassed the figure in the same period of last year by 60% and topped pre-pandemic levels.
