The HSI fell 166 points or 0.9% to close at 17,469. The HSCEI faded 59 points or 1% to close at 6,194. The HSTECH lost 65 points or 1.8% to close at 3,545. Total market turnover for the day amounted to $85.826 billion.

As for techs, BABA-SW (09988.HK) sagged 0.9% to $74.1. TENCENT (00700.HK) dropped 1.9% to $366.2. MEITUAN-W (03690.HK) descended 2.6% to $118.1. XIAOMI-W (01810.HK), JD-SW (09618.HK), BIDU-SW (09888.HK), NTES-S (09999.HK), KUAISHOU-W (01024.HK), and BILIBILI-W (09626.HK) were down 1.3%-2%. In addition, WEIMOB INC (02013.HK) plunged 13.6%, and GDS-SW (09698.HK) slid 5.6%, while SENSETIME-W (00020.HK), CHINASOFT INT'L (00354.HK), and KINGSOFT (03888.HK) cratered 4%-5%.

Chip stocks SMIC (00981.HK) and HUA HONG SEMI (01347.HK) eroded 3.2% and 7%. Handset component stocks BYD ELECTRONIC (00285.HK) declined 4.2%, while Q TECH (01478.HK), AAC TECH (02018.HK), and SUNNY OPTICAL (02382.HK) dropped more than 2%. With Berkshire Hathaway Energy further reducing its stake in BYD COMPANY (01211.HK) to below 5%, BYD COMPANY decreased by 3.1% to $238.4.
