NDRC: CN 5M24 Community-wide Electricity Consumption Hikes 8.6% YoY

The National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) said in a press conference that China's above-scale industries generated 3.66 trillion kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity in the first five months of this year, a YoY increase of 5.5%, and in May 717.9 billion kWh of electricity, a growth of 2.3%. In the first five months of the year, China's electricity consumption gained by 8.6% YoY, while that of the primary, secondary and tertiary sectors, and that of the residential sector hiked by 9.7%, 7.2%, 12.7% and 9.9% respectively, and in May that of the whole country grew by 7.2% YoY.
