The HSI hiked 88 points or 0.5% to 19,052 at midday. The HSCEI climbed 26 points or 0.4% to 6,745. The HSTECH added 40 points or 1% to 4,002. Total half-day turnover for the market amounted to $79.059 billion.

The proposed US Biosecure Act restricting business with Chinese biotech companies such as WUXI APPTEC (02359.HK) has been revised, delaying the deadline to sever ties. WUXI APPTEC opened 15% higher before retreating, and leaped 3.7% at midday, while its same series WUXI BIO (02269.HK) opened 7.9% higher before falling, and shed 4% at midday. PHARMARON (03759.HK) opened 10.3% higher, and elevated 3.2% at midday.

Stocks in the "valuation system with Chinese characteristics'" continued to be speculated. GUANGDONG INV (00270.HK) advanced 5.2%, while CHINA TAIPING (00966.HK) and CPIC (02601.HK) jumped up 4% and 3.3%. CRRC (01766.HK) and TIMES ELECTRIC (03898.HK) shot up 8.6% and 7.1%, while CHINA RAILWAY (00390.HK) and CHINA COMM CONS (01800.HK) gained 3.6% and 4.1%.

For techs, BABA-SW (09988.HK) swelled 4.1% to $81.15, while TENCENT (00700.HK) rose 1.3% to $376. BILIBILI-W (09626.HK) mounted 5.2%, while MEITUAN-W (03690.HK) and JD-SW (09618.HK) picked up 2% and 1.2%. XIAOMI-W (01810.HK) increased 1.4%, while KUAISHOU-W (01024.HK) slipped 1.5%. Meanwhile, TME-SW (01698.HK) ballooned 4.4% pre-results, while SENSETIME-W (00020.HK) inclined 1.4%.
