NIO, XPENG & LI AUTO Descend 2-6%, as US Rumoured to Hike Tariffs on CN EVs to 100%+

It is rumoured that US President Joe Biden will announce this week significant hikes to tariffs on some Chinese goods, with total tariffs on EVs rocketing from 27.5% to 102.5%.

The news caused the 3 major Chinese EV startups to fall this morning (13 May). XPENG-W (09868.HK) trades now at $30.05, plummeting 5.95%, after hitting a low of $29.8. The volume is 6.2928 million shares, involving $190 million in turnover.

LI AUTO-W (02015.HK) now trades at $102.5, dropping 2.84%, with 2.5085 million shares traded, involving $257 million. NIO-SW (09866.HK) trades now at $39.5, falling 3.78%, with 848,300 shares, involving $33.6125 million.

BYD COMPANY (01211.HK) is also down 2.24% at $218.4.
