Handset component stocks broadly rose this morning (7 May). SUNNY OPTICAL (02382.HK) opened flat and soon expanded its gains, once hiking 5% to $43.15, a high of more than a month. It currently trades at $42.25, up 2.92%, with a volume of 4.7479 million shares, involving $201 million.

BYD ELECTRONIC (00285.HK) peaked at $30.4, a one-month high. It now trades at $29.65, lifting 3.31%. AAC TECH (02018.HK) stands now at $26.25, rising 2.94%. COWELL (01415.HK) anchors now at $19.98, elevating 1.83%, after once logging a new high since mid-January this year.

Q TECH (01478.HK) inclined moderately by 0.87% to $3.49. FIT HON TENG (06088.HK) rose 0.46% to $2.20. TONGDA GROUP (00698.HK) trades now at $0.083, down 1.19%.

According to the latest report from market research firm Counterpoint, Apple (AAPL.US) and Samsung dominated the list of the world's best-selling smartphones in 1Q24, with the iPhone 15 Pro Max becoming the best-selling handset.
