The US House Select Committee on China sent a letter to the US Secretary of Defense urging the Pentagon to ban internet-connected vehicles with Chinese technologies that use LiDAR remote sensing and other technologies from US military bases.

The Chinese government has also banned Tesla (TSLA.US) from certain government and military sites due to security concerns.

The world's largest LiDAR supplier is Hesai Group (HSAI.US), whose customers include automakers such as LI AUTO-W (02015.HK) and XIAOMI-W (01810.HK).

The US Department of Defense put Hesai Group on the list of "Chinese Military Companies" this year, and later Hesai Group filed a lawsuit against it, claiming to defend the Company's legitimate rights and interests.
