Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong will remain in the Cabinet as the Senior Minister after stepping down as the leader of the government next month, Singapore's Lianhe Zaobao reported. The new Cabinet is not expected to undergo too many changes, and the full name list will be announced a few days before his designated successor, Lawrence Wong, is sworn in.

In an interview at the Ministry of Communications and Information this afternoon (16th), Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Lawrence Wong said that Singapore's political system is built on continuity and gradual change, and that there has never been a case where all ministers have left at the same time after handing over the power. This is no exception when he takes over the helm.

Wong also said that he had invited Lee Hsien Loong to continue to serve in the Cabinet as the Senior Minister and was pleased that Lee had agreed.
