IDC: Apple's iPhone Shipments Drop ~10% in 1Q24, while XIAOMI Shipments Rocket 34%

Market research firm IDC noted in a report that 1Q24 global mobile phone shipments rose 7.8% YoY to 289.4 million units. Samsung, with a market share of 20.8%, regained the top of the list, and its shipments fell slightly by 0.7% to 60.1 million units. Shipment of Apple (AAPL.US)'s iPhone descended nearly 9.6%, ranking second with a 17.3% market share.

Phone shipments by XIAOMI-W (01810.HK) meanwhile surged 33.8% YoY to 40.8 million units in the last quarter, giving it a 14.1% market share and narrowing the gap with Apple.
